MEC-9 will be held in May 2012 in St. Petersburg, Russia
The next, ninth conference on mercury emission into atmospheric air by coal combustion, MEC-9 (Mercury Emission from Coal), will be held 22 through 23 May 2012 in St. Petersburg. This annual conference is organized by The Clean Coal Center of the International Energy Agency (IEA CCC) since 2003. The MEC conferences have been held in 7 European countries, in North America, Asia, Africa, and Australia.
In conjunction with this forum, a conference of the Global Partnership of the UN Environment Program (UNEP) on mercury will be held for the preparation of the global agreement on mercury under the aegis of UNEP.
During this conference, leading specialists will present reports on the ongoing UNEP project, national projects for reduction of mercury emissions into atmosphere from coal-fired power plants, the status of regulatory system, the development of technologies of mercury removal from stack gas, and on analytical control systems.
LUMEX is a regular participant and one of the organizers of this forum in St. Petersburg.
