Clinical labs in the Czech Republic are using CE system Capel-205
February, 2021 – Zlín, the Czech Republic. Сapillary electrophoresis (CE) system Capel-205 was installed in Tomas Bata Hospital. It is the second CE instrument in the clinical labs in the Czech Republic.
The main tasks for Capel-205 in the hospital’s biochemical laboratory are the determination of transferrin with percentage calculation of its disialo-form and analysis of patients’ urine samples for the presence of oxalates and citrates. The first analysis is needed to relate the results to the consumption of alcohol, and the second one is required to correct the therapy in case of kidney problems. Besides this, they expect to run several research works in clinical biochemistry.
It is already the second installation of the instrument in clinical labs in the Czech Republic. The first Capel-205 was purchased by the hospital of the city of Hradec Kralove. They have been successfully using the instrument for more than a year for similar analytical tasks.
Capillary electrophoresis is becoming more common over the years and proved to be a powerful and reliable technique. CE system Capel provides many advantages for the analysis, including accessible reagents and consumables, simple sample preparation, less time, and fewer costs for analysis. It is well suited for automation and exhibits outstanding separation efficiency.
Today clients in clinical labs in Czechia have fully validated the analysis of transferrin on Capel-205 by successfully running over a hundred measurements, including blind tests. An example of transferrin analysis is presented below.
Tomas Bata Hospital is one of the largest and most important hospitals in the Moravia region of the Czech Republic, having its own biochemical lab. Since 1927, it has grown rapidly and confirmed its reputation as high-quality care and modern treatment provider in the country.
