Canadian AgroTech mission to India
February, 2020 – India. Dr. Sikander Gill & Dr. Rajwant Gill from Lumex Instruments Canada participated in the Canadian Technology for Agriculture & Supply Chains Mission in Mumbai and Bangalore.
On February 3-7, our experts, as part of the Canadian delegation, visited Indian companies to discuss R&D collaboration opportunities and market exploration. B2B meetings were organized within the framework of the Canadian Technology for Agriculture & Supply Chains Mission. The mission is focused on building partnerships and increasing Canadian companies’ knowledge and services in areas such as Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies for agriculture.
At the meetings, Lumex Instruments discussed the microchip-based qPCR technology with the prospective partners. The technology can be used both for R&D and routine testing or screening of plant pathogens, resistant markers, or GMO testing. Microchips, together with PCR analyzer AriaDNA, have a lot of advantages over traditional PCR - it’s robust, rapid, accurate, cost-effective, has high sensitivity and reproducibility. The analysis time is typically just 20 minutes with 0.5–1.8 μl sample consumption and low detection limits – and does not matter what you analyze, crops, tubers, propagating materials, or livestock.
Lumex Instruments expresses gratitude for the mission organization to the Trade Commissioner Service and especially to Arbinder Pal, Trade Commissioner at the Consulate General of Canada in Mumbai.
