The 8th International Freiberg Conference on coal gasification problems was held in Cologne
The 8th International Freiberg Conference on coal gasification problems was held in Cologne, Germany, from 12th to 16th June, 2016.
More than 200 delegates from 20 countries took part in the conference.
The coal gasification, being a high-temperature process, results in mercury emission, which is hazardous for environment.
The Lumex experts presented a paper devoted to determination of the mercury thermospecies in coal. This technique, using RA-915M Mercury Analyzer with PYRO-915 Pyrolysis Attachment, provides detection of the mercury species emitted from coal within certain temperature intervals. Thereby not only the total mercury content can be measured, but also the processes of coal preparation for gasification or combustion can be optimized to reduce mercury emissions to the environment.
