The set of RA-915M with RP-91NG performs analysis of natural gas sampled from a well, pipeline, cylinder, or Tedlar® bag. RP-91NG attachment optimizes gas flow to the analytical cell of RA-915M analyzer and eliminates interference from non-specific background molecular absorption. The technique provides a reliable measurement for the full range of mercury concentrations in natural gas, from ng/m3 to mg/m3.

RA-915M analyzer can be also used separately for real-time mercury measurement in ambient and indoor air. Other Lumex Instruments attachments are available to extend RA-915M functionality (PYRO-915+ for thermal decomposition technique, RP-92 for Cold Vapor technique).

PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION

Atomic absorption spectrometry at 254 nm wavelength with Zeeman correction for background absorption provides the most selective and sensitive analysis without matrix effects.

The highest selectivity of Zeeman technique and low detection limit allow direct analysis without preliminary precipitation and collection of mercury in absorption traps. As a result, the analyzer enables direct real-time determination of mercury in a hydrocarbon gas flow.

FEATURES AND BENEFITS
  • Direct continuous real-time measurements
  • Low limit of detection, highest selectivity
  • Wide dynamic measurement range: more than 5 orders of magnitude
  • No sample pretreatment, no reagents
  • No compressed gases
  • No pre-concentration on gold traps, no memory effect
  • Analysis of gas and air in both laboratory and field conditions
  • Low running and maintenance costs
APPLICATIONS

RA-915M mercury analyzer with RP-91NG attachment is used for the direct determination of mercury concentration in in the natural gas. Mercury in hydrocarbons poses a number of technological and environmental problems including Hg exposure to humans, contamination of environment and equipment. Mercury also initiates corrosion of equipment and catalyst poisoning during gas transportation and processing. These effects have serious implications for the gas liquefaction and gas-processing technologies.

The standalone portable RA-915M is also used for background air monitoring, mercury surveys including continuous measurements from vehicles, indoor and outdoor pollution detection and mapping, demercurization control, occupational health and safety, geochemical exploration, etc.

SOFTWARE

RAPID is an efficient and intuitive software designed for the operation of RA-915M mercury analyzer with RP-91NG attachment. RAPID software fully complies with FDA 21 CFR Part 11 requirements.

It provides:

  • data acquisition, processing, and reporting
  • real-time visualization of selective and non-selective absorbance
  • databases for calibrations, processing and storage of measurement data.
WARRANTY

RA-915M mercury analyzer with RP-91NG attachment is covered by a full 1-year warranty.
