Programmable PYRO-915+ furnace enables optimal samples decomposition and study of the mercury thermospecies having various binding energy with a sample matrix.

Direct thermal decomposition technique meets national and globally accepted standards such as ASTM D6722, D7622, EN/TS 17286, US EPA 7473, 30B, PS12B, SN/T 4429.2-2016, HJ 923-2017, and others.

RA-915M analyzer can be used separately for real-time mercury measurement in ambient and indoor air. Other Lumex Instruments attachments are available to extend RA-915M functionality (RP-92 for Cold Vapor technique, RP-91NG for direct analysis of hydrocarbon gases).

PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION

Direct thermal decomposition followed by atomic absorption spectrometry at 254 nm wavelength with Zeeman correction for background absorption makes interference-free measurements easy and quick. The technique ensures the most selective and sensitive analysis without matrix effects.

FEATURES AND BENEFITS
  • Direct and fast analysis of solids, liquids, and biosamples
  • Broad measurement range: more than 5 orders of magnitude
  • Low limit of detection and highest selectivity due to Zeeman background correction
  • No need for sample pretreatment and reagents reduces analysis cost
  • Safe and simple operation: no compressed gases (oxygen or argon), air is used as a carrier gas
  • No pre-concentration on gold traps increases analysis speed and reduces exploitation complexity
  • No memory effect: a sample with low mercury concentration can be analyzed immediately after a high mercury sample
  • Programmable furnace for optimal sample decomposition and mercury thermospeciation study
  • Portable RA-915M analyzer enables lab and ambient air monitoring
  • Low running and maintenance costs
APPLICATIONS

The RA-915M mercury analyzer with PYRO-915+ attachment is used for the direct determination of mercury concentration in:

  • soils, sediments;
  • rocks, ores, minerals;
  • crude oil, oil products, naphtha, petrochemicals;
  • coal, coke, fly ash, gypsum;
  • sorbent traps for flue and hydrocarbon gases;
  • passive air samplers;
  • waste waters, wastes, sludge;
  • food, nutritional additives, animal feedstuff;
  • biosamples: tissues, hair, urine, blood, etc.;
  • drugs and cosmetics;
  • plastics, fertilizers, and many other materials.

The standalone portable RA-915M is used for background air monitoring, mercury surveys including continuous measurements from vehicles, indoor and outdoor pollution detection and mapping, demercurization control, occupational health and safety, geochemical exploration, etc.

SOFTWARE

RAPID is an efficient and intuitive software designed for the operation of RA-915M mercury analyzer with PYRO-915+ attachment. RAPID software fully complies with FDA 21 CFR Part 11 requirements.

It provides:

  • data acquisition, processing, and reporting;
  • real-time visualization of selective and non-selective absorbance;
  • databases for calibrations, processing and storage of measurement data;
  • adjustable modes for optimal thermal decomposition of any specific matrices.

Automatic closed-loop temperature control extends the measurement range and ensures no data loss during analysis of complex-matrix samples or highly contaminated samples. RAPID’s thermoscanning function gives additional information about mercury speciation in samples.

warranty

RA-915M mercury analyzer with PYRO-915+ attachment is covered by a full 1-year warranty.
